Living Walls
I completed a project of a living room with a PLANT theme in my last class this summer. Through this I discovered the concept of "living walls." They are walls with plants growing directly out of them; they can be planted with different plants to make many different beautiful designs.
Manhattan's First living wall!
The facade of Pure Yoga studio on 86th street.
A close up of a section.
Since I live in nyc I found one on the glorious upper east side on 86th street on the facade of a new yoga studio. I love the concept; they look so fresh and lush. And lets face it, New York needs more plants and trees. Go green!
You can even design them yourself through this website:
Here are more...
This one has 4 sides! Different color for each side.

A feature on them from Elle Decor (I think)

My Design
So, I realize that I have barely shared anything about myself. To remedy this, here are some pictures from my room in my tiny NYC apartment. I am constantly changing thing, buying new objects that most of the time I haven't a place for, but such is life. Enjoy!
Martha Stewart Lamp, from college with a Pottery Barn shade. Yeah, I have a Bose too.
I'm working on my gallery framing set up. The two botanicals are from the Met Museum, www.metmuseum.org. The large perspective drawing I bought from the Mark Hotel when they turned the hotel into real apartments.
This bracket I have a left one on the other side of my window from www.oldegoodthings.com Its pretty much hit or miss at that place but you can find some cute things if you really look.
I got these three mirrors from Pottery Barn and hung them from really cute blue satin ribbons.

Hepper--animal beds
I stumbled upon possibly the cutest thing i've seen in a while thanks to Apartment Therapy.
Hepper is a company that is based in NYC and speciallises in making much more attractive animal accessories than just your usual LLBean round dog pillow. The company was named for their cat Hepper and make beds and houses for cats, dogs and even birds. The modern design is quite appealing though sometimes tough to match with a traditional look--and look how smug and dignified these little critters look!

Docking Stations

I have had a recent issue on my desk with, you guessed it, wires. I have a cord for my cell phone, a cord for my ipod, one for my computer, two for my new external harddrive and another for my not so small digital camera. SO i'm having a little bit of an organization disaster and I went on a hunt for something attractive to hide my wires and this is what I came up with. So far not much but if anyone else has any suggestions please chime in!
This one is my favorite right now even though it is Pottery Barn, $79! It blends best with my other accesories and my light green country style desk.

This is the Container Store one for 24.99 but is more techy looking. Best price but not the most attractive. No offense Container Store, I still love you.
This is West Elm, for $49 and comes in white, black, and mushroom laquers. Quite cute and small for city living.
Here is another one from Horchow
In leather, $69
