Mad about Mad Men --YEAH that happened.

Clearly Mad Men is a huge hit. I'm mostly drawn to the outfits, and the interiors from the 60's. Okay fine, I love Don Draper. So here are some pics of the interiors...Don't get caught up in how much I obviously adore Don Draper...and want to be Betty Draper. SIGH.

Plaid wall paper?!

If you could look away from the woman in the lingerie tied to the bed for one sec, you'd see the amazing headboard and the cute tufted cushion on the chair.

Bathroom Love

Ever since I told my friend that I loved the ultra feminine french spread from House Beautiful below and she pointed out that I liked french design, I've been very confused. Do I like fun mid century modern? Do I like English country? Regency? French? Wow. I mean I know I'm allowed to like everything but this has me really shaken up, design wise. Who am I? Whats my style? DEFINE ME! So, while I figure out who I am, here are some fun bathrooms I've found.

Domino Mag. Beautiful wallpaper and I love those plates arranged like that.

Kathy Abbott.

Saladino Group. A fire place??? How amazingly frivolous.

Scott Salvator. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Calder floating above your bathtub?

T. Keller Donovan. I wish I had enough room in my bathroom for a cute stool like that.

Bunny Williams

Joe Kremer. This is lovely but the stagnant water is a LITTTTLE creapy.

Joe Kremer.

Paul Siskin.

Which one is your favorite? I think mine is the T. Keller Donovan one. Blue and white is perfection there.

Designer Spotlight: Jonathan Rosen

Another one of my favorite designers is Jonathan Rosen. His style is light, full of pastels, and traditional. I love his use of colors; he is definitely not afraid to use them but at the same time hes not afraid of a little neutral. These images are from a house in the Hamptons published in House Beautiful.

This blue bedroom is so pretty! Light and relaxing.

I like the celadon brick shaped tiles on the back splash.

Woah, patterns. China Seas fabric.

Neutral "beachy" looking living room.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations to Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler who apparently just tied the knot in California! They've been together for 14 years. Amazing. (thanks ash!)

I LOVE EVERYTHING HERE. PREDICTABLE.

I love framing old maps.

I fell in love instantly with this whole spread from House Beautiful by Hal Williamson. I was semi surprised because of how French and feminine this style is. I usually am drawn to something a little less delicate looking and little more country. Nevertheless, I love it.

This desk is pretty much everything that I could ever dream of.

Detailing on the desk below.

The only thing I would change is that terrible picture above the cabinet. I know I'm supposed to like it but I don't.

mhmm.

Amazing bed.

I think the only thing I might change is the art. I would prefer some contemporary abstract art instead of those boring photographs.

Saucy

While walking around randomly on the upper east side a few days ago I came across this restaurant, Saucy. Apparently it has about 50 fresh sauces that you can pair with different meats or vegetable dishes. I read some reviews and people are raving. Anyway, the thing that caught my eye was the design of the restaurant. It has a full length glass window in the front and you look into a cozy yet chic restaurant. Above the tables there are burlap sacks filled with spices on a large glass platform. Above that there is a large mirror reflecting each spice! I had never seen anything like it--take a look below. Can't wait to eat there either.
