Friday Faves

Well, I'll spare you the gory details but let's just say I'm glad it's Friday. For Friday faves I'd just like to point out that it is not yet Thanksgiving and there is Christmas decor in stores already, and it's EVERYWHERE! Isn't it customary to wait until after we are thankful to start thinking about the season of giving? I'd say yes. I'm still in the Autumn mindset so I bought some bittersweet berries yesterday and my apartment looks great and seasonal! Let's enjoy the current season before we have to rush into the next one, shall we?

How can you rush past Thanksgiving when you have a cute little pine cone decoration like this one? This turkey decoration is so cute! And it looks so simple to do...

I attempted a mini version of this wreath and let me just say that it doesn't look a thing like this. Oh well. If you want to give it a go, be my guest! HERE are the instructions.

When I bought the bittersweet berries, it was especially strange because the only times I've gotten them was when I ran out into my back yard and collected them from the woods. Buying them seemed wrong. Well, I'm headed home now for some for the long weekend. Please no holiday and more specifically Christmas music until two weeks from now? Thanks. Have amazing weekends! I hope you all eat pumpkin flavored things, collect pretty colored leaves from the sidewalk, or try out different stuffing recipes in prep for Thanksgiving!

The Boden Fall Catalog had me at striped t-shirt.

Every time the Boden catalog comes in the mail, I get so excited. It has just plain great clothing; practical with a bit of a flare. They have fun wrap dresses, really pretty jumpers (sweaters in British), and they always have the most fabulous shoes. Here are some of my faves so far...

I'm beginning to think I have a sweater dress obsession. Nothing is more comfortable and pretty to me, and perfect for work. Flattering Knitted Dress $ 128.

Yup, I want everything in this picture right here. This tweed skirt also comes in the cheeriest shade of yellow but I'm a sucker for tartan plaid. British Tweed Skirt $88.

I would just die to have these shoes. I love wingtips and these are perfectly feminine. Pretty Brogues $148.

They have tons of great Men's stuff too, like this checked shirt. I really like the girl's outfit too--reminds me of how I used to dress every single day.

Looking through the catalog made me more and more excited for fall. As much as I love summer, sun dresses, gold sandals etc, I always welcome a fun wardrobe change!

My Typical Awesome New England Autumn Weekend

This past weekend as you know, I went up to my parents' house in good old New England! I was able to enjoy that last bit of great fall foliage and pressure my parents into buying me gourds from a real live farm! Take that, Gracie's Market! (just kidding, I love you Gracie's Market.)

My feeling is, the bumpier, the better. It gives it more of a personality. I put this little cluster on the book shelf in the corner of my room.

How cute are these guys? Mini corns (cluster of three) and a gourd that looks like a pumpkin are sitting on the bookshelf in our living room.

These are taken at the farm. Don't they look like two swans?

They are in fact, swan neck gourds, I believe. These are new to me this year but I think they're so pretty and every one of them bends differently. Gourd couture.

This is the front of the farm with an incredible red tractor from the 1940's original to the farm.

This is a close up of a tree that was turning. I love how many colors there were just in this small array of leaves.

The weekend ended in an amazing sail with my father. Isn't it gorgeous how the tree is reflected in the lake?
